Product Review - The Body Shop: Moisture White Line

The entire Moisture White line by the Body Shop is disappointing. I bought the starter kit back in 2006 and didn't see any results.

The kit came with a cleansing powder, toner and brightening serum. Mind you, I didn't expect drastic results or my skin to brighten at all. Just maybe something to fade scars or freckles.

The cleansing powder is the only half decent product in this line. It has a higher concentration of liqourice extract and because it's in a cleanser form - the results are more instantaneous. I worked it up into a foaming lather and left it on my skin for 60 seconds. The skin is more receptive when it is wet, so any active ingredients can take a slight effect. My skin did appear slightly brighter upon rinsing. Nothing special.

The toner is nothing but alcohol, and the brightening serum is very greasy, oily, and contains the wrong form of Vitamin C (it has to be L-ascorbic acid to have a profound lightening/collagen building effect on the skin). What I really don't get is why the Liquorice extract content in the serum is so low? It's at the bottom of the ingredient list and the product doesn't do anything but moisturize. It's a total waste of money. Pass on this.
