Product Recommendation: Dr.Ci:Labo Super White 377

Dr. Ci:Labo is a wonderful Japanese skin care brand that offers specialized skin treatment formulas that provide remarkable results. Their skin brightening line has been picking up a lot of buzz and I recently just learned of their impressive serum/essence product – The Super White 377.

The Super White 377 is designed to brighten any dullness, reduce dark spots and lighten the overall skin color with the following 3 active ingredients:

White 377: A patented polyphenol derived from European Red Pine. Penetrates deep into the keratin layer to promote a lighter, more luminious skin tone

Reseratrol: A polyphenol extracted from grapes
Pycnogenol: A polyphenol extracted from French Maritime Pine

Each of these polyphenols holds strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and tyrsoinase inhibiting abilities. It also contains other antioxidants and amazing ingredients designed to combat irritation and promote radiance. It has Astaxanthin which is a powerful antioxidant and ingredient used in many Taiwanese and Japanese skin whitening lotions.  It also contains the very fascinating Vitamin P (or otherwise known as Glucosyl Hesperidin) which has been shown to having melanocyte inhibiting properties. 

The combination of these 3 polyphenols inhibits tyrosinase acitivity 7000 times more effectively than Arbutin alone. It also proved to be more effective at lightening 2,400 times over Kojic Acid. It also poses as a low risk for irritation amongst sensitive and reactive skin types. Kojic Acid has a bit of bad rep due to the fact that it can be unstable as well as highly irritating on sensitive skin.

This product is intriguing to me!  I think over the years, and after trying so many different skin lighteners and skin brighteners I am now in a place where the only I products I give a second look to are ones with unique, ‘different’ active ingredients. Perhaps moving into uncharted waters and trying these ‘less conventional’ antioxidants and skin lightening ingredients can prove to be the best alternative to some of these obsolete lighteners out in the market.

I have been scouting the various blogs and forums I frequent for information on this product and all the commentary I am reading is beyond excellent. It seems to be a highly effective product that creates a visible change and does exactly what it promises (brighter, more even skin).
