November's Top 5 Products

This month a lot of new, interesting products made the top 5. I've been getting some really exciting messages about wonderful Asian-brand skin lightening products that are making me want to splurge!

Some old favorites of mine (any members from the Bright Skin Forum might remember my obsession with the Aloette enzyme peel, lol) made the list too. =D

Amore IOPE Whitegen RXC Neuro Essence
Kanebo Freshel White C Clear Soap
Tretinoin & Hydroquinone
Silk Whitia Anti Oxidation Whitening Mask

I know it's been awhile since I've updated, but if you've been following my (not so frequent) tweets on Twitter you will know that I am a bit swamped with work and personal life. This doesn't mean my blogging at All About Skin Lightening is low priority by no means, it's just I haven't had any time for anything. Believe me, I long for writing on here more than anything right now.

But the good news is I have some very interesting and fun plans for this blog. I'm definitely taking this little blog to the next level! Soon I'll be back to daily blogging (I have so many articles to post (I've written them all, just haven't edited them), launching the new look of the blog and doing giveaways and other fun things this holiday season and well throughout next year! It's gonna be awesome, I cannot wait to get this thing moving!

Thank you everyone who continues to check out my blog, e-mails me their questions or comments and everything. You are all wonderful and wish you all love and light in the next couple of weeks. ♥♥♥

I cannot wait to share all that I've planned for this blog with you all! It's really exciting.

Hi,

I am using Retin A every night and a 15% vit C serum(l-ascorbic acid) with feruli acid everyday. would Aloettte enzyme peel help me in reducing the dry patches I have on my face and lighten my complexion? And can I use it even while using Retin A?

FYI., I am using 40% lactic acid peel once in 2 weeks and that is helping me a bit in evening out my skin tone. But it leaves behind some dry patches and I want to get rid of them. Can I use both the Lactic acid peel(once in 2 weeks) and the aloette enzyme peel(2 times in a week)? Or would it be too much? Please help!

Thanks!

Hi, if you're already using the 40% lactic acid there is no need for the Aloette. It's an enzyme peel that is gentler than any alpha hydroxy acid one but works very similar.

I find stubborn dry patches are only removed by one thing and that is manual exfoliation. Sometimes I do a little scrub everyday in the morning with a gentle cleanser (those facial sponge scrubbers) to help get rid of dry flakes. Scrubs with synthetic beads are great too (Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash, microdermabrasion kits, Neutrogena scrubs). Always follow up by moisturizing the dry spot prone areas. There are so many great ones out there, but now that it's cold it's best to go for a rich one as opposed to lightweight. =D

Your welcome Sweet P. And yeah, Aloette Enzyme was my absolute FAVORITE product for years! I was crazy about it and used to post like crazy about it over at The Bright Skin Message Board for years.

I haven't used it in awhile but it's great to know others are using it and loving it. It's a wonderful product that does an awesome job at complete exfoliation, instant brightening and pore clearing. Love the glow it gave me too.

Thanks so much for your response Mileena. Just one more quick question. Should I not use Retin - A 1 or 2 days before using the aloette peel?

Aloette is super gentle but just to be on the safe side, I usually advise to take 1 day off the night before. ;)

hi ~

just wondering for body lightening is
-Dermaline papaya kojic acid soap

or

-diana Stadler papaya kojic acid soap

are they the same thing?

I went on a trip and my body got a tan
Are these soaps good for my tan?

They're good soaps that should help in slowly removing the tan (papaya is a natural skin brightener and has enzyme-exfoliant properties). Kojic acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor.

I believe the Dermaline Papaya Kojic Acid Soap and Diane Stadler are the same thing. They are made by the same company which I believe is Diane Stadler who I guess decided to make the same soap for her other product range. :S

If you commented a month ago I would have said the Kose Herbal Whitening Mask (which I love) but my money is on Neutrogena's Fine Fairness which I tried and love! One of the best niacinamide treatments out there - instant glowy, lighter skin. And it's so beneficial for your skin and skin lightening process (has 5% niacinamide).

The DHC Acerola is great for people who cannot tolerate L-ascorbic acid (pure vitamin c). It's a derivative of the form, and it's a powerful antioxidant. The Acerola 100 is what I use and get great results with it.

Hey Alice,

No worries I get confused with different product titles all the time. You're right though, it's the same thing. I believe they re-worked the name of the product several times. First it was a night treatment, then essence, then serum etc. Now with beaut on it. This is the one that gets raves:
