★New Year – New Plans★

First and foremost, let me officially say on here - Happy New Year to each and every one of you!!! *\:D./ I wish you blessings, goodness and light. May this year be a beautiful, empowering and fulfilling one for all of you!

So as I stated in almost every blog post for the past month or so (LOL) – All About Skin Lightening is going through some changes. I know I wasn’t updating daily, but a lot was going in my life in terms of work, personal life etc. Through it all I was reading and answering all your comments and e-mails the best I could. I needed to keep the blog in a low key state for awhile just to keep up with it. Now that I’m embarking on my final semester of school and really have a lot more time on my hands, I am ready to take this blog further.

I will be re-launching a new version of it soon, but in the meantime will start posting all the blog posts I wrote last month for January. I have a lot more wealth in knowledge and more of an understanding and acceptance of certain ingredients that I didn’t advocate much before. =P

I’m excited to get this under way and hope you all are too. I really want All About Skin Lightening to be the central hub of information for people looking to safely lighten their skin.  I need your help by just sticking with me and know that I will be a more consistent blogger.

I wanted to post a question to you all – what are your skin lightening goals for 2011?

Even if you aren’t skin lightening, just skin care in general.

I don’t have much this year aside from maintaining and trying out some more peptides and antioxidants for my skin’s resiliency and luminiosity. I am pretty content with how my skin is right now which is an amazing feat for me! It’s clear and even. I usually only try products for the sake of the blog and because I just love sampling products and posting reviews. I guess it’s my main priority as a blogger to be the guinea pig (you know what I mean =P), or the person who can help them narrow down their purchase of a skin lightening product.

I know a lot of you e-mailed me about trying to have big goals for your skin and I am excited for you! Skin care in general is something that I am very passionate about and trying to create the best, healthy skin you can get is a great goal to have. Of course I will be *right here* to answer any questions or give you any support and guidance.

Be well and I look forward to a great year with you all!

Mileena

Mileena, happy new year to you and much success with the changes you've planned for the blog. I think you've been doing a fab job so far, and wanted to thank you for pointing me to C+ Clarity and Arcona's Lightening Drops. Both products have been an improvement on similar products I had. I'm now using Elta MD spf 46 combined with Clarins UV plus for protection, and all of it together seems to finally break down some of my melasma - or at least noticeably lighten it. I'm very pleased. Thanks again, and good luck!

Oh, wow! Lou I'm so happy the products you are using are helping with your melasma! =D Seriously that is so great to hear and hopefully it can lighten/fade it completely or at least even more. Stick with it :)

@wickedkewl Those are some great goals. I also want to be healthier overall as well. I tried to dabble in the raw food diet last year but realized it wasn't for me. I just read The Kind Diet a few months back and am beyond excited to switch to more of a vegetarian/vegan diet.

As for your skin not to be as oily and looking fresh - that is DEFINITELY possible. I know many ways to work around oily skin and make it more 'tolerable' and fresh looking. I'm just like you - lots of oily skin and it can be tough to deal with it but you can make it work. I'll be posting a lot of basic skin care things as well that I've learned and applied on my skin on the blog too.

Hi Mileena,

My goal this year is to stick to my regime and use the products daily instead of getting lazy (especially using the vitamin c serum). I want to see if I can lighten my body skin atleast a shade and a half and my face and neck a shade :)

Happy new years!! And hope all your personal things got sorted out to your liking, and good luck on your last sem!!

<3 good luck Sweet Pea.

Vitamin K seems to be getting my interest for dark circles. I'm gonna look more into that and see what further work I can find and any decent products with it.

Oh I know! I didn't grow up vegetarian but now that I live on my own and do all my own grocery shopping I figured it's gonna be easier to transition into it. I won't have meat around anyway.

I actually don't even like meat that much. I crave it very rarely so I think I can do this. :)

@Tiffany Thanks! And best of luck to you. It took me a long time to be consistent with my regimen, but a tip I can give you - your regimen doesn't have to be set in stone. You can be flexible and switch it up and sometimes not use certain products.

I get tired and lazy too sometimes and forget to use certain things. The key is that you eventually get back on it :)
