Skin Lightening Ingredient Nivitol Proven To Lighten Skin At Low Concentrations

The company Unigen (another botanical extracts supplier) has released a skin lightening ingredient called Nivitol that inhibits tyrosinase as well as interferes with melanin assimilation. Nivitol is derived from Dianella ensifolia extract. It is shown to work as effectively at treating pigmentation issues as well as hydroquinone and kojic acid at low concentrations.

Topical application of a 0.3% Nivitol showed a 43% reduction in melanin synthesis, whereas a 1% application of Kojic Acid showed a 36% reduction.

No adverse reactions occurred to any of the subjects in the study that used Nivitol. Kojic Acid and hydroquinone are both irritating in their own unique ways – sensitive skin types have a difficult time to tolerating long term usage of these substances.

I would like to point out that in the next couple of weeks I will be revamping this entire blog. So you'll be seeing a lot of changes (for the better!) and just a whole new layout.
