Product Review - DDF Brightening Cleanser

I'm not big on using cleansers as brightening agents, but I got this one for free in a gift basket. The ingredients looked promising: a host of proven plant extracts like licorice, bearberry, mulberry and arbutin.

The cleanser is designed to smooth texture (with glycolic acid and salicylic acid) and even out skin tone with repeated use. It comes in a 250 ml bottle with a cap over a pump dispenser.

I don't use this cleanser everyday, but now that it's summer I'm finding I'm using it more often. It's quire drying - scratch that...it's really drying! I think it has to do with the AHA and BHA in it. I'm sure resilient skin types can handle this on a daily basis, but for I use it 3 times a week. Like with all cleansers with active ingredients, I leave it on my skin for 60 seconds to allow at least some of the ingredients to be recieved. Again, skin is much more receptive when wet then dry.

As far as brightening - well suprisingly I actually do find that my skin looks really even and glowy after washing with this. It definitley is the fantastic active ingredients that are doing this. Don't expect to go up in shades, or have freckles completley disappear...but you will see a visible brightness. I got it for free, but I've seen at Sephora for about $20.00

hi

thanks for taking the time to review this product. Ive been contemplating on whether to buy this for a mighty long time. One question, is this cleanser good on blemish prone skin like blackheads, pimples etc? Did it help smoothen and clear your skin

Hey!

Yeah, definitley it works best on either oily or acne prone skin. I found while I was using this during the summer that some of my mild acne on my forehead was gone. The pH of the ingredients is correct so the salicylic acid is definitley going into the pores.

A great cleanser I think for the summer months.

=)
