Product Review - Aloette Restorative Enzyme Peel

It's rare to find a peel that is completley acid-free and does an excellent job at exfoliating, brightening, and evening out the skin tone/texture. When I first came to the attention of the Aloette Restorative Enzyme Peel, I was immediatley enticed and excited to try it (click here for my original post from the Bright Skin Forum done 3 years ago. Oh my...I seemed a bit too excited for my own good, LOL!) You can read about other people's experiences' using Aloette. It's an informative thread.

What I like about this peel is not only the fact that it is probably the best peel for sensitive skin types and individuals who just cannot tolerate AHAs, but I love the method of exfoliating action, and ofcourse the results it produces.

It contains 54% pure aloe vera gel (known for it's soothing properties) and a host of other natural fruit extracts/enzymes (grapefruit extract, cucumber, pineapple and papaya (which has mild melanin supressing abilities)) which gently loosen, and break down dead skin cells.

The peel comes in a 1.7 oz jar, and is a green gel-like substance. It spreads on clear when put on the skin though and has a pleasent fresh, cucumber fragrance that is not overpowering.

Using this product is the most fun aspect. On clean, dry skin, smooth a thin layer of the peel with your fingertips over your skin. Massage in with circular motions for at least 30 seconds. It initially feels sticky, but then starts to liquify. Once this happens, you can feel your dead skin flaking, balling off. Continue massaging for another 30 seconds and the dead skin will keep balling up and falling off.

It can be used anywhere, it is so gentle. You can use it on your face, neck, lips, knees, elbows, anuywhere on the body. I used it on average about 2-3 times a week and it lasted me for about 3 months. Again there is no acid in this peel, it utilizes fruit enzymes to exfoliate so there is no redness or risk of irritation. Skin is actually left supple and hydrated afterwards.

The results are pretty astounding. Especially after the first application, I remember literally gasping after I rinsed the product off at how bright, radiant and glowy my skin looked. The texture of my skin also really smoothed out and softened. I also found it did a great job at unclogging my pores.

The lightening aspect of this peel is gradual, but it does happen. It does a wonderful job at gently and safely removing all the dead skin in the epidermal level of the skin. I suggest using a Vitamin C serum or a lightening product of your choice afterwards for better penetration into the skin.

The product is not sold in stores. Aloette has an official website you can purchase it off of: http://www.aloette.com/Best_Sellers/Restorative_Enzyme_Peel. It runs for about $39.00 on the official site. You can also order it off of various Shoppingchannel websites for cheaper. Ebay has the cheapest prices, and I believe most members ordered it off of there. At ebay, the Aloette Enzyme Peel can be found for as little as $20.00.

omg, have you tried the pumpkin mask from muac? i got a free sample with my cleansing bar and it's AMAZING. like your skin literally glows. people say lactic acid peel makes your skin glows. but personally, that has never happened to me. but this stuff is amazing. i never really understood what people meant by glow, until this. another result was that it left my face like oily free. it wasn't shiny, at all. just glowing. amazing peel. the strong pumpkin smell, i can def. do without though. you should try it some time.

Oh, wow. Never tried it, I've glanced at it while browsing their site. I'm gonna check that out.

I have so many skin care treatments going, my head might explode. I just added the Niacinamide mask once a week to my routine. I really love that. But the Pumpkin mask looks awesome, and judging by what you say it looks like it's right up my alley.

Thanks for the recommendation. =)
