Product Recommendation: Skin Biology Super CP Serum

I love Skin Biology products. Their LacSal Serum is a fabulous enhancer for skin lighteners, and acne fighter. I recommend checking out the official Skin Biology webiste as it features articles, studies and charts comparing their star products with others in the markets.

One of their most popular products is the Super CP Serum. There is actually a milder version, simply called the CP Serum, however the Super CP Serum is significantly more concentrated and packs a bigger punch. Though it is not marketed solely as a 'skin lightener' it contains proven, effective amounts of copper peptides that make it a valid hyperpigmentation corrector.

Copper peptides are great for the skin, aside from their ability to interfere with melanocyte activity. They rebuild/regenerate skin, retain water, and remove damage from deep layers. If you want to learn more about copper peptides, read my post on Copper Peptides For Melanin Reduction.

Skin Biology's Super CP Serum is really one of the best copper peptide products out there. It is strong stuff, and most of the reviews I have read glow with positivity.

Aside from having a host of copper peptides, it also have salicylic acid which not only makes the Super CP Serum a great acne reducer, but aids in exfoliation of the pores and absorption, which in turn allows for greater efficacy and total utlization of the copper peptides.

The reduction in melanin that comes along with copper peptide use is very similar to that of a retinoid, albeit a couple of differences. Retinoids aren't 'skin bleachers' but they break up pigment by rapid exfoliation and DNA repair. The Super CP Serum breaks up pigment deep within (as opposed to outter epidermal repair like an AHA which treats the surface) by disrupting melanocyte transfer and activity, as well as remodeling the structure of sun damaged skin by activating receptors (just like a retinoid minus the intense cell turnover ability).

Copper peptides work exceptionally well on acne marks. The Super CP Serum can definitley fade red or dark acne marks, mottled pigment from acne as well as acne scars (texturized marks, pitted scars) to a degree. The concentration of copper peptides and BHA together can work on an epidermal level at resurfacing the skin, as well as a deeper layer, aiding in tissue repair. Skin tone and skin texture are both benefited with this product.

Skin Biology's Super CP Serum can be used twice a day, but I recommend since it is quite concentrated to use once a day. According to Skin Biology, a drop or two can suffice for the entire face. The product has a propylene glycol base which makes it very easy to spread across the skin. A little goes a long way with this one.

It can be used in the day time, underneath your sunscreen (I should note, if you are using copper peptides, you shouldn't be using L-ascorbic acid. Those two should never touch the skin together, as they create a zero effect. Copper + L-Ascorbic Acid = decrease in effectiveness in both ingredients). It can also be used at night, alone as a night treatment or mixed with an AHA product or a retinoid. I would counsel the mixing of a retinoid and a product like this be approached very slowly and carefully. The intensity of the copper peptides and BHA with the strength of an rx retinoid can produce powerful skin changes and benefits (I can imagine), but they can also be irritating for some skin types. It can definitley be done, but I do caution this.

Skin Biology's Copper Peptide Serum comes in two sizes: 1oz ($24.95) and a 4oz (51.95) bottle. It can be found at cheaper prices through other online vendors that carry Skin Biology products, as well as ebay. Remember a little goes a long way, but this is the real deal. If you are interested in copper peptides and how they can contribute and help with your skin lightening/hyperpigmentation/sun damage issues and goals, I would recommend this one.

Yeah I've been thinking about trying out copper peptides. They are so beneficial and I really am curious if they can help my skin concerns.

You know I'm probably going to get the Super CP after I'm done with Vichy Bi White Double Reveal (which I love, and got decent results with) so I can put it underneath my sunscreen during the day. I just gotta try copper peptides out for myself. =D
