Meladerm Wins Award For Best Skin Lightener of 2010

I usually don’t follow many skin care awards or online user top-picks, but since this is a skin lightening blog I think it only makes sense that I at least mention this.

Meladerm by Civant Skin Care has won the award for the Best Skin Lightener by user ratings at SkinWhitening.org. Meladerm is a botanical/plant extract based skin lightener which promises to lighten overall skin color, hyperpigmentation, age spots, birthmarks, freckles and pigmented acne marks.

The Skin-Whitening website is a pretty interesting site which I frequent from time to time. It is run by cosmetic scientists who review and rate various skin lighteners in the market. Very similar to what I do over here All About Skin Lightening, but they do their own scientific research and create their own ‘awards’ which are created mainly by commentary/reviews from the public.

When I found out Meladerm won as the best skin lightener of the year, I will not lie – I was a little surprised. I mean, since starting this blog and connecting with other people who are interested in safe skin lightening, I have come across some amazing skin lighteners. I understand Meladerm is a popular skin lightener with fantastic ingredients (truly) but it seems to me the general judgment of it is very mixed. Some people e-mail me their success stories with Meladerm and tell me how it lightened their hyperpigmentation incredibly well. Others tell me it did nothing for them. Usually when lighteners are this popular and have such mixed reviews, I refrain from trying them since I feel there is enough information out on the net for people to form their own decision on whether to buy it or not.

In the same turn, I’ve always advocated that all skin lighteners work differently for different people. I’m just having a difficult time believing that this product is the best skin lightener out there.

Meladerm is something I probably need to try. I can only say so much without actually giving the product a chance. If anyone uses Meladerm and agrees with this award, please comment. I’m more interested than ever in trying Meladerm now.

meladerm gave me really bad skin irritation after 5 days of use and i dont have sensitive skin. it took 2 weeks for my skin to return to normal. no breakups but badly irritated. horrible product

Actually this shocks me, because meladerm was actually caught by the regulations people for displaying a wrong ingredeints label! I8 mean that on its own clearly states that its not manufactuered by legal standards, it is ILLIGAL not to have a complete list shown on the label,.. i dont remember the article too well but it was nameing and shaming them!
Also from what I know meladerm are KNOWN to create a hype by creating their own awards!!! lol shocking as it sounds but its true! do a litte search and you'll know what i mean. Who held these awards? who owns the website? Ive always had my doubts on that site...somethings not adding up... how comes there is sooo many complaints about meladerm yet they seem to have 'won' an award!!!

I'm beginning to think the skin-whitening.org website is being sponsored or is owned by Civant Skin Care. I'm not too sure.

I do frequent that site once in a blue moon but I actually heard about the 'award' from an article in the San Francisco Chronicle. I sometimes skim through the latest skin lightening 'news' to see if anything is worth discussing. This one caught my eye since Meladerm is always such a hit or miss (mainly miss amongst most people) product.
