October's Top 5 Products

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Deep Whitening Mask (5-piece)
UNT C Clarity Brightening Fluid
Yllume Ultimate Illuminating Complex
Finacea Gel (Azealic Acid)
Kose Shirosumi Whitening Essence

This month I was delighted to get an e-mail from a reader who was getting results from the Yllume Ultimate Illuminating Complex. Her before and afer pictures showed visible change which is beyond exciting. I recommended the Yllume complex a couple of months ago. This oral + topical system is designed to lighten/correct pigmentation from the inside out - naturally.

Hi Mileena,

Would you say the Skinceuticals Phyto+ is the most effective skin lightener you used? I am on the hunt for a effective skin lightener, and after spending hundreds of dollars on Makari and Hypertone, I realized I want something that is not based specifically for a ethnic group (such as Fair and Lovely, Makari, some Korean products I have used).

Hisbiscus extract is a powerful antioxidant plant extract that like most antioxidants has tyrosinase inhibiting ability on excess/irregular production. 5% is strong and most likely very effective.

What's the name of the product? I am intrigued by ayurvedic products as they offer some unique ingredients.

Hi! It's hard for me to settle on one product. I love both plant extract based skin lighteners and vitamin c serums equally as they both lighten and even out my skin very, very well.

Out of all the botanical lighteners I've tried, Phyto+ has consistently given me the best results. They were mild but after consistent usage the effect is there. Plus it never broke me out, or gave me any adverse reactions. I would probably say yes to the Phyto+. It is the most effective one I used.

Having said that, skin lightening for me was not just one product. It's my entire regimen which compliments everything else. Lactic acid peels have done amazing things for the pigmentation/look of my skin, and so has daily sunscreen usage and ofcourse topical antioxidants (vitamin c serums like UNT's and Skinceuticals as well as the homemade one).

=)

That is wonderful Tamz! I'm so happy the Yllume is creating a difference in your skin. I've never used or cared for skin lightening systems that combine topical + oral but this one seems highly effective.

Awesome combination!

Niacinamide is a great ingredient, but like all others it sometimes works for some people while it doesn't for others. That is why you shop around and keep trying different active ingredients at the right percentages.

Hopefully this is working for you =)
