Product Review - Environ C-Boost Clarifying Cream

I have been using the Environ C-Boost Clarifying Cream for over 2 months now (which temporarily replaced the UNT's C Clarity Brightening Fluid) and decided it was time to review it.

The main active ingredient in this clarifying cream is Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (sometimes known as super vitamin C). This is a very effective vitamin c derivative that I gave details on in Vitamin C Derivatives.

Going from a pure L-ascorbic acid serum (at 20% mind you) to a vitamin c derivative is definitely a step down. There is no denying that, so my expectations were not on the same level as the UNT C Clarity or the Skinceuticals AOX range. But I must say, this product is actually pretty awesome. I did see some visible changes.

Firstly, the texture is wonderful for a cream. It's oil-free and lightweight but still very moisturizing. A little goes a long way - I literally used the size of a pea (no more, no less) for my entire face, including my eyes. It spreads wonderfully and above all, it didn't feel thick or clogged pores. I will say though that if you are used to lightweight L-ascorbic acid vitamin c serums that are either water-based or silicone based, you will most likely be a little turned off by the greasiness factor. It's not overbearing, but there was definitely a shine on my face after I applied that pea sized amount.

While using the C-Boost Clarifying Cream, I kept thinking to myself what a wonderful vitamin c product this is for sensitive or normal/dry skin types. I mean, it contains a gentle yet highly effective vitamin c derivative at high levels as well as moisturizes the skin (perfect for fall/winter).

The results were probably the best aspect of the cream. I noticed by day two or three of usage I got the instant glow of vitamin c (most vitamin c users see a small glow in their skin when they use C). My skin looked plumper and just incredibly healthy. My skin is quite even as is, but it can never really be 100% even. With this product it made my cool undertones come out and just brightened my entire face.

There is no doubt it is an effective product.

The Environ C-Boost Clarifying Cream comes in 25ml (0.85 fl oz.) squeeze tip tube for around $60.00. It is fragrance-free and can be found through here:

I would recommend this to people who cannot tolerate L-ascorbic acid or have dry/redness prone skin. This is a great new take on vitamin c.
