Product Recommendation - O'slee White Medi Perfect Whitening Serum

If you are in the market for a new skin lightener and you are on a budget – you’re in luck! A reader recently e-mailed me a link to a fabulous new plant extract/anti-oxidant based skin lightener by the company O’slee. Their new White Medi Perfect Whitening Serum certainly has me intrigued and I love the ingredients!

This lightweight serum contains SYMWHITE® 377 (a patented powerhouse skin whitening ingredient which is derived from several botanical extracts) that acts as a strong tyrosinase inhibitor. This ingredient is shown to be 20 times stronger than kojic acid and less irritating on the skin. It also contains natural papaya enzyme which aids in brightening and mild epidermal cell turnover.  Other ingredients include peptides and Hyaluronic acid.

The official site boasts that this serum can reduce melanin production within 24 hours. While this sounds outrageous, technically it is very possible. It probably will not dramatically reduce melanin within 24 hours, but have an effect on the production so an instant brightening can be seen. This is the case with most lighteners and brighteners which have mild exfoliating properties to them – vitamin c serums are a prime example of a product giving a visible effect to the skin tone within a 24 hour period.

There is a semi-interesting graph depicting the effectiveness of the O’slee White Medi Perfect Whitening Serum on the official O’slee website. In the image, there are 2 test tubes with melanin growth liquid. Test Tube A is treated with the O’slee White Medi Perfect Whitening Serum while Test Tube B is left alone. Within 24 hours, the color of the solution in Test Tube A is left unchanged (no increased melanin) while Test Tube B turns to black, proving that O’slee White Medi Perfect Whitening Serum can reduce melanin buildup.

The graph is sketchy and should be taken with a grain of salt. Human skin is different than anything in vitro. It’s basically trying to show how melanin suppression stops the pigmentation cycle. It just looks kinda neat when it’s done in a  test tube with melanin growth liquid, lol.

Here is a youtube video demonstrating the whitening effect of the O’slee, which is a visual representation of what is in the graph:

As of late, most of the skin lightening products that catch my attention are ones that are a bit revolutionary or have unique active ingredients in them.  As many of you know, I’ve been using  the peptide based Lantomi Skin Lightening cream for months now and have been loving it. But this O’slee has definitely caught my eye as a perfect candidate for a spring/summer lightener (I always go for more light weight and less ‘heavy’ and emollient products in warmer months).

It’s comes in a 40ml vacuum sealed pump bottle. The price for this serum really runs the gamut but if you check out this link:

…you can get it for roughly $17.00 USD!! There is a little catch in that you need to purchase it with at least one another product or 2 other O’slee products. Pretty fair, since the usual retail price for this serum is above $100 on other sites.

Hi there! love love your blog..

Am debating buying the Lantomi Skin Lightening cream. However i needed to know if it's strong enough for a very dark complexion black skin. A lot of creams out there are not strong enough to even penetrate our thick skin, much less lighten. Am looking to lighten up in a shade. no more.

What do you think? If not Lantomi, what else would you sugguest (i.e. stronger) and not makari!

Thanks so much. keep up the good work

Hi!

Thank you for liking my blog!♥♥♥

As you already know, all lighteners work differently for different people. I can't say for sure whether the Lantomi can lighten thick, dark skin but I can tell you my progress and view on it since I personally use it.

I find it does lighten my skin - quite well actually. I am visibly lighter when I used it and when I stop using it (sometimes I do get lazy I am not perfect and don't use all the products in my regimen, lol) my skin looks very dull but Lantomi gives it an instant healthy glow. The actually lightening of my skin color didn't occur until week 5 or daily use. I think it's a great lightener for someone with normal to dry skin.

Going by from what it has done with my complexion, it should help you with your needs in lightening a shade. It probably would work even better if you have a peel in your regimen and wear a great sunscreen daily.

You'll never know unless you try - the Lantomi is a great cream. It's pricey, but a lot of these lighteners are nowadays. It does lighten that is for sure - I can't guarantee how much of an effect it will have on your skin, but with consistent usage it *should* impact the melanin synthesis. Plus it's fairly good for reactive skin types since I haven't broken out from it which is RARE for a moisturizing cream. I usually go for gel types or lightweight serums only.

Good luck!

Hello, loves your blog. it's very useful. I have alot of dark acne scars on asian skin so it is very apparent. I was just wondering if you have any recommendations for scar lightening? I checked out the paul & joe review you have and I am so tempted to buy it but it is a bit pricey haha. i have oily sensitive acne prone skin :( any recommendations would be great! :D

Hi! Thank you for liking my blog and finding it useful <333

For dark acne marks, I find vitamin c serums rock for this. The Paul & Joe does contain a vitamin c derivative, but it's not as potent as the real thing. Look into Skinceuticals AOX 10 or AOX 20. You can also make your own DIY vitamin c serum with l-ascorbic acid crystals (from the health food store) and water.

Skinceuticals is a bit pricey as well, but you can find great deals on samples by browsing eBay. This is what I used to do when I was really into using vitamin c serums.

Vichy Bi White (the original one which is sadly discontinued) was the ultimate for me in fading dark acne marks (pigmented or purple-ish ones) within a few days!

Aside from a vitamin c serum, daily use of a sunscreen (you must be meticulous about daily application when you are trying to lighten any form of hyperpigmentation) will go a long way.

Good luck! <333
