Product Recommendation: Skinceuticals Advanced Skin Brightening System

The Skinceuticals Advanced Brightening System contains five excellent products that are clinically proven to reduce the look of UV damage, fade dark spots, acne marks and reveal an overall brighter appearence. All five products are top selling and very effective, but together in this kit, work in combination and save you money.

Anyone just starting out with skin brightening or looking to obtain an even complexion would probably benefit from this. Novices to retinoids will like this since it has a great retinol product.

The Advanced Brightening System features the following top notch products:

Skinceuticals Phloretin CF - A powerful topical antioxidant with a patented combination of phloretin with vitamin C and ferulic acid. The three ingredients together work to correct pigmentation issues and sun damage from the lowest layers of the skin.

Skinceuticals Retexturing Activator - A hydrating and exfoliating serum in one. With 20% glycolic acid and rich in amino acids, this is a great weekly treat for your skin that will even out any discoloration or blotchy skin patches.

Skinceuticals Pigment Regulator - see my recommendation here. Contains a patent of skin lightening ingredients. IMO the star 'skin brightening' product of the system.

Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5 - Containing 0.5% concentration of retinol, this is a perfect product to anyone who has never used a retinoid before. Very mild but still a solid product to use at night. Will help with promoting a more uniform skin tone.

Skinceuticals Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30 - A sunscreen for everyday incidental sun expopsure. Contains 7% transparent zinc oxide and 7.5% octinoxate.

To make the most out of this skin brightening system I would recommedn a regimen like this:

AM:
- Cleanse
- Skinceuticals Phloretin CF sparingly
*wait 5 minutes*
- Skinceuticals Pigment Regulator sparingly
- Skinceuticals Ultimate UV Defense SPF 30

PM:
- Cleanse
- Skinceuticals Pigment Regulator
- Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5%

Three times a week instead of using the Retinol, use the Retexturizing Activator.

The price is...steep. Very steep ($200+), but you are saving about 25% off on each product getting this system as opposed to buying the products seperately. There is no denying these are great products. This system would make a great gift or holiday present (I swear I'm not thinking of Christmas this early....).

Hi Mileena
A big thanks to you for recomending retinoid. My skin was never so bright before using it. I just love my skin which is totally spotless and even. Thanks again
Mileena my cream based retinoid(0.025% tretinoin) also contain mometasone(0.1%) wat is it for? And also mentioned not to be used more than 3 months as it wil reduce the thickness of skin. Is it true, or mometasone is a problem? Can i continue with this or change my brand. Thanks

Hi Nitesh!

The skin thinning side effect of mometasone doesn't always occur. Tretinoin is argued to be a skin thinner as well, but that isn't true since it overtime thickens the dermis from the inside out (resiliency, collagen etc.)

I wouldn't worry too much about it, but like always, I would always recommend a pure retinoid (no other ingredients) since it's just much less hassle to deal with. I'm sure it will be fine, just remember to be deligent with sunscreen to protect your skin. ;)

Hello! You seem like a very decent person that knows her stuff on skin lightening.
I'm asian and have a light yellowish/olive skin tone, but would like to lighten it to a snowy fair complexion. Is that possible in 3 months?

You have written so many good posts, that I don't know where to start or choose from!
Can you please list me your best recommendation products or anything to help achieve my goal? The only thing I've been doing is use a shiseido sunblock with SPF 15 and washing my face with a cleanser.
For buying products, my budget is $200.
I have faith that you can help. (^_^)

$200? Thats Rp2000.000,00! Wow... I'd pay my tuition fee for 2 or 3 months instead :D :D :D
I dunno, Mileena seems to lose her light... dunno why...

I know! LOL It's insane, the best product in that entire system IMO is the Pigment Regulator (and maybe the antioxidant).

So if anything just getting the pigment regulator is good.

I haven't lost my light Randy. I promise, I've just been so busy with my internship but I'll try making more time for the blog. <333

woahh, (O_O) the price for the Pigment Regulator is kind of high for me now.lol
I have decided other plans to use my money.
so I might just get a whitening mask and search for something $20-$30 that's recommended from your blog as a good lightening product instead.

Thanks for the info though and good luck with your internship! :)

@Randy: yea $200 :D it's birthday money. I think you're right on how to spend money though. That is why I plan to use it for buying my college books instead. Sadly, college is expensive. :/

I know, the price tag for a lot of Skinceuticals products are just ridiculously high.

I know quite a few people who like the Paul & Joe Whitening Serum and get great results from that (antioxidant, botanical extract lightener). UNT EX White 2 is also relatively decent priced and if you aren't acne prone, the Hypercreme Illumination Fluid always seem to get great commentary from the e-mails I get from people who use it. It's about 20-30 bucks (in that range).

College is so expensive, Kim. You are doing the right thing saving your money and not splurging. And thank you, so far the internship going good but it is a lot of hard work. I think in the next couple of days I'll become more used to everything and get consistent with balancing everything. <3
